If you look at back in the Genesis and SNES days, people forget that the PlayStation was the one that came along and allowed people to be a lot more free.
Now this is really awesome. A picture posted on Gameranx shows the tiniest PlayStation we have ever seen. It was a model created by Sebastian Vergas and even includes a mini game disc for the game Parappa the Rapper. The tiny set even has it’s own controller and memory card. Cute!
With the complete HD overhaul in the works, Activision have posted this comparison screenshot of the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with it’s spiritual brother. The hangar and atmosphere of the game appears to the same, multiplied by tens of thousands of polygons!

These amazing never before seen shots of PlayStation concepts were posted by GamingBolt today. The pictures show some of Sony’s initial designs and ideas. This has to be one of our favourite galleries. Some of the designs seem pretty Nintendo esque. We’re happy with the way the PlayStation turned out given these designs, but its amazing to see the development process nonetheless.

Now here’s a video game relic from the past. These are the original storyboards from PS1 horror-RPG, Parasite Eve. The game was developed by the then known, Squaresoft. The storyboards show the game’s intro sequence and were said to have been made in the game’s early development. They were posted on linkedin by Marco Velasquez, a former employee of the company. If you don’t remember the series, perhaps you’ve heard of The 3rd Birthday on the PSP, the third entry in the series.

Looking back, there’s not anything in particular I want to go back and fix. If you change anything, you change the game – and I want to avoid that. If you bring the gameplay up to modern standards, then you lose a bit of the original game.
