FortressCraft Hit by DDoS - Designer Blames Notch
FortressCraft, a game on the Xbox LIVE Arcade (strikingly similar to Minecraft) was hit by a DDoS attack on the launch of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.
Saw the official sales numbers for the first 24 hours of Minecraft Xbox 360, and it’s very, very good. Profitable in an hour.
I think it’s is an unfortunate side effect of digital distribution, and I think digital distribution is saving gaming.
Speaking with VG247 after the video game BAFTA award ceremony, Markus ‘Notch’ Persson of Mojang confirmed that he is working on three new projects. Since the full release of Minecraft, the mastermind behind the block builder has gone hands off on the project. We can’t wait to see what Notch has in store for us next.
I think it’s a bit dangerous to only have one digital distribution platform like Steam. I love Valve, but out of principle, I find the idea of one platform a bit scary.
