MW3 Double XP Begins

According to the guys over at MP1st, players on all platforms will receive double XP for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the weekend.
With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 being the biggest entertainment release ever, its interesting to see just how this came about. The images above give us some insight into the development process of the mega hit. Jason Roth Hazel, a concept artist for the game, has posted these shots of some of the game’s biggest set pieces. Infinity Ward and Activision really did a great job in turning the ideas into reality.

MW3 Content Calender Revealed
It wasn’t too long ago that we learnt that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would receive persistent DLC through until September. Now, Activision has revealed their schedule for content.
MW3: 20 DLC Drops in 9 Months
Activision have made a big deal out of DLC with Modern Warfare 3 and their Call of Duty Elite service. The company has today announced that there will be a total of 20 content drops in the next nine months.
After ten years of constant war, of thousands of amputees and flag-draped coffins, of hundreds of grief-stricken communities, did nobody involved in this commercial raise a hand and say, ‘You know, this is probably a little crass. Maybe we could just show footage from the game.
Could this video indicate the maps in the first DLC pack for Modern Warfare 3? The maps were said to be releasing next month according to Infinity Ward. One screenshot was released for a map called ‘Park’ which features in the video. The video has not been removed by Activision…yet. It seems relatively legit to us.

First MW3 DLC Dated by IW
The first set of DLC for Modern Warfare 3 is set to come out on Xbox 360 next month as confirmed by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling.
MW3 Generates $1bn. in 16 Days
The Call of Duty series has gone on to smash the records again (it’s own records of course). Activision has announced that after just 16 days on the market, Modern Warfare 3 generated $1 billion in revenue.
