This video rekindles so many nostalgic feelings its hard to take. YouTube user, Acheron90, has posted a machinima video which is a Battlefield 3 remaster of Battlefield 2’s intro. The countless times spent watching that awesome intro video all came back at once in this beautifully done Battlefield 3 video!

An easter egg has been spotted over at MP1st on the Wake Island map for Battlefield 3’s Back to Karkand expansion pack. The tombstone thanks the players who have fought on the classic map in previous Battlefield games: Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1943. N’awwwh, thanks DICE, its been our pleasure!

In spirit of all the other trailers released, the team over at EA have released a fourth and final trailer for Battlefield 3’s Back to Karkand DLC. This trailer features the classic ‘Wake Island’ map which featured in both Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1943. The map has been given a Frostbite 2.0 makeover in the DLC. Excited!

We should definitely add more of those maps, unfortunately that is something we can’t talk about right now, but there are some really really exciting things in the pipeline for BF3.
BF3: Back to Karkand Release Date Revealed?
We’ve been wanting to get our hands on some vintage Battlefield 2 maps on Battlefield 3 for a while now. According to the Asian PlayStation Store website, we don’t have to wait too long either. We’ll be going Back to Karkand very soon!

If you were a Battlefield 2 player, you’ll appreciate that Gulf of Oman was an incredible map. Make sure you don’t miss out on the Back to Karkand DLC pack which brings the map back in the glorious world of Battlefield 3. Check out the brand new trailer which features the map.

More Back to Karkand comparisons courtesy of BF3Blog. This a comparison of Gulf of Oman. There’s a lot more environment decoration in DICE’s 2011 juggernaut. On top of this, there’s a hell of a lot of graphical improvement. DICE have explained the stark differences as the map being set a few years after Battlefield 2.

Its Sunday Snapshot time. Here we have some screenshots taken of Battlefield 3’s redesign of the classic Battlefield 2 map, Strike at Karkand. These comparative screenshots compare how three sectors of the map looked before and after. The map is available in the game’s first DLC, Back to Karkand.
As you can see and expect, the Battlefield 3 rendition look incredible. Battlefield 2 was a great looking game in it’s time and its made to look vastly inferior by the incredibly detailed Battlefield 3 environments. However, the map hasn’t changed too much as these locations are certainly resemblant to their predecessor.

BF3 Multiplayer Maps List
The full map list for Battlefield 3 has been revealed. All the maps on the list are playable on the modes that the multiplayer offers. Yes, this includes 64 player variations of the maps for Conquest on PC.
