GAME BAFTA Awards Winners
Tonight was the GAME BAFTA awards for 2011 held in London. There were plenty of categories and plenty of winners. We have them all below the break.

BAFTA Game Award Shortlist Announced
Struggling retailer, GAME, have again teamed up with BAFTA to bring you the Game of the Year award ceremony on March 16th. Here’s who made the cut for 2011.

Angry Birds Downloaded 6.5m Times on Christmas
The smartphone version of Angry Birds received a whopping 6.5 million downloads on Christmas day according to developers, Rovio.

Ten Years of Xbox Timeline
Microsoft have launched a timeline on the Xbox website which covers the 10 years of Xbox’s existence. The timeline spans from 2001-2011, covering everything Xbox! Its a nice way to see the journey Microsoft has taken into the home console world.

This generation’s top selling home console has had a somehwat mixed year. The successor to the Wii, the Wii U was kind of revealed at this year’s E3, leading to the inevitable winding down of the Wii. So, who takes home the Best Wii Game of 2011 award?

The PS3 certainly had a strong software lineup this year. Releases from major first party studios and third party alike, the supposed ‘year of the PS3’ turned out to be a good one, minus the PSN outage. With so many exclusive titles to choose from, it was quite hard to pick a best exclusive PS3 game for 2011.

New IPs counterbalance the saturated market with something that hasn’t been done before, or done in a certain way. 2011 is no exception to the rule, with plenty of games to choose from.

The human interaction you get from a game’s multiplayer mode is just something you can’t quite match with singeplayer. 2011 has seen a whole hoard of top notch multiplayer games hit the market, but which one do we think tops the leaderboard?

It’s been an interesting year. It’s the best year since - and I’m not just saying this because of my game - 2007.
With a total new name, design and developer, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance looks a heck of a lot different to what it did in 2010. The bottom section of each image is the original design from when Kojima Productions was developing the game. Now, Platinum Games has taken the project by the horns, changing its place on the Metal Gear timeline to post-MGS4. Check out the differences! Also, which side do you prefer?
