Wii U Sold At Loss
Nintendo have confirmed that the Nintendo Wii U will be sold at a loss at launch.

The news was announced today by Nintendo at a press conference in Osaka, Japan. In order to be sold at a price that matches demand, the system will be sold at a loss due to manufacturing costs.
One can assume the tablet style ‘GamePad’ is one of the main drivers of such expenses. Exchange rates are said to be another factor influencing the announcement today. Nintendo usually sell their systems at a profit. Like the Nintendo 3DS (post price cut), it may take some time to move back into the black.
