Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Announced
Straight out of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has been announced.

No it’s not Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell in the picture, instead it appears to be Big Boss. The new game was shown off at the event running on a high end PC, suggesting that the game may be coming to current gen consoles on the FOX Engine.

Tweets from event attendees claim that the game is fully open world, something new for the series. The MSF logo appears on the shot released, suggesting that the game will again be a prequel to the events of Metal Gear Solid. One tweet said that “Old Snake is back”. Whilst that makes no sense given the logos, the Old Snake could be a Big Boss losing his way circa 1995.
@kazamatsuri - ”Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes demo was truly amazing, running on a PC at current-gen specs. Wow.”
@markmacd - ”Demo of “Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes”, started w cutscene (all realtime), went into gameplay, open world, night, raining, base. AMAZING,” followed by “Snake crawled @ avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in heli for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere… Wow.”
@ItCameFromJapan - ”Ground Zeroes on Fox Engine - rich detail, open world, and Old Snake is back!”

Could players be taking control of Solid Snake in his attempt to stop Big Boss’ Outer Heaven uprising?
