Peter Molyneux has often been described as a gaming visionary, but has the announcement of £50,000 DLC just made him look crazy?

Molyneux’s curious new title called Curiosity is certainly an odd one. The social media driven game will see players collectively chip away at cubes to unveil a special prize. A one-off DLC pack for the game can see players buy a £50,000 chisel which is 100,000 times more powerful than your bog standard tool.
“This is not a money-making exercise; it is a test about the psychology of monetisation.”
Only one person will see what truly lies within the cube, so it could be £50,000 badly spent. The price tag seems ludicrous, particularly as the spender may not even get to see the prize. Do you think Molyneux has lost his marbles?
