Diablo III Sells Big…Really Big

The first day and week sales figures are in for Diablo III. As expected, the game sold like hot cakes out of Hell!

The PC dungeon crawler managed to rack up over 6.3 million sales in it’s first week, 3.5 million of which came in the first 24 hours. Amazingly, the sales figures don’t include the 1.2 million World of Warcraft Annual Pass players who could claim the game for free. 

This means the game became the fastest selling PC game ever. It also managed to sweep up 39% of the market share in Korea. With 4.7 million users logged on during the launch day, it was evident the game was an instant hit. 

Despite the good news for Blizzard, we received some sad news that a man passed away last week whilst playing the game. Our thoughts remain with his friends and families and we urge players to game responsibly.
