Rumour: Battlefield Premium Service Coming?

According to a rumour online, DICE are set to launch a premium Battlefield service to rival Call of Duty Elite.

With the game already having a free to use stats tracker called Battlelog, it would seem that DICE/EA had already pleased fans. However, the rumour begs to differ, suggesting the system will be announced on June 4th at the EA press conference for E3.

The service is apparently set to offer unique content in the form of camouflage, dog tags and other personalised goodies. To be honest, I feel pretty uneasy about all this. Whilst it is good that players that want it can buy it, splitting the players between paid and unpaid just doesn’t seem like the Battlefield way, particularly considering the stress placed upon the cost-free Battlelog.
