FortressCraft Hit by DDoS - Designer Blames Notch
FortressCraft, a game on the Xbox LIVE Arcade (strikingly similar to Minecraft) was hit by a DDoS attack on the launch of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.

The style of attack commonly used to bring down servers was aimed at the game’s official website. The company are said to be pursuing those responsible, and one of the game’s designers blamed Mojang’s Markus ‘Notch’ Persson and his fans. Here’s what Adam Sawkins said via twitter.
“Aaaand, the FortressCraft website’s being DDOSd. Fuck you and your ‘community’, @Notch,”
There was also some follow up with an interview with the folks at EuroGamer where Sawkins said:
“We know *who* it was, but sadly we didn’t get a note in the post saying WHY.”
Whilst we don’t condone any such behaviour without just cause, it seems harsh to be lashing out at the creator of a rival product. Fair enough if Notch instigated such an attack, but it seems there is no evidence for such claims.
