Kaz Hirai Becomes Sony President

The rumour posted not too long ago is true, Kazuo Hirai has now become the President and CEO of Sony.

Hirai will take over the position from Andrew House. The transition will take place on April 1st of this year. Hirai’s new role will have to be ratified by shareholders in June. 

“I am grateful to Sir Howard and to the Board for their confidence in me, and I look forward to working with everyone at Sony more closely than ever before to build a strong future for our customers, shareholders, partners and employees.”

We’re hoping that despite the move away from SCE, Hirai will still appear at major PlayStation events. We’re dying for another RIIIIIIDGE RACER moment!
