New Mode Announced for BioShock Infinite
Irrational Games have announced a new mode for this year’s BioShock Infinite. The mode called ‘1999 Mode’ is said to tuned for the hardcore gamer.

The upcoming BioShock moves from under the sea to in the skies, set in the fictional skyward city of Columbia. According to Ken Levine of Irrational Games, the 1999 Mode gives players the chance to ‘go back to our roots.’
The mode is said to give more lasting effects on decisions made throughout the game. It will also force players to specialise in one specific area in order for them to be successful. Health, weapons and power management is said to be more difficult. Here’s how the mode came about according to Ken Levine:
“I’m an old school gamer. We wanted to make sure we were taking into account the play styles of gamers like me. So we went straight to the horse’s mouth by asking them, on our website, a series of questions about how they play our games. 94.6 percent of respondents indicated that upgrade choices enhanced their BioShock gameplay experience; however, 56.8 percent indicated that being required to make permanent decisions about their character would have made the game even better.”
We always welcome gameplay additions. Its a feature that the hardcore gamer will appreciate and it seems like it isn’t for the faint hearted!
