3.9 Million PS3s Sold in November/December
Sony will be pleased with the sales figures that they published today. The PS3 rakes in 3.9 million sales in November to December and the total of PlayStation devices coming to 6.5 million.
Sony have set the target for 15 million sales for the PS3 by the end of their fiscal year. The fiscal year ends on 31st of March 2012. A strong software lineup for the holiday season, most notably Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and a price cut are key factors in the success.
The PSP still continues to sell well with 1.6 million units sold in the period. Strangely enough, 500,000 PS2s were sold too.
