UPDATE: Gaming Giants Backing SOPA via ESA
Earlier today it became apparent that SCEA and Nintendo had removed their official support for the Stop Online Piracy Act. However, many large video game companies, Sony and Nintendo included, are still backing the bill, but disguised.

A report from RawStory reveals how the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is the gaming industry’s official lobby and the organisation is on the official supporters list of the bill.
The lobbying group acts on behalf of the gaming industry as many companies are against the piracy of their games. The ESA are also responsible for taking down links for pirated games on websites across the internet.
Here’s what the ESA said about the bill in a segment of an open letter:
“We commend both the House and the Senate for their attention to this important issue and look forward to working with you in support of that goal.”
