BroGamer Awards 2011: Most Embarrassing
There were plentiful embarrassing moments in gaming this year. Most shockers usually come in the form of awkward E3 press conferences, but 2011 was different. There was something that stood out on the spectacular side…

Winner: PlayStation Network Outage

When the PS3 and PSP online network was hacked back in April, we all assumed things would go back to normal within a few days. However, nobody expected the PSN to be down for 3 weeks. With no online gaming for millions of people across the world, this takes 2011’s most embarrassing spot. Sony’s misinformation also made us all wince as we soon found out that credit card and personal information may have been stolen.
Despite a free games offering and a PlayStation Plus membership for a month, it still didn’t make any of us forget. This wasn’t just a cause for laughter, it was a financial blow to the company and more importantly a great deal of damage was done to the PlayStation brand.
Honourable Mention: Mr Caffeine at Ubisoft E3 Press Conference, AT&T booed at Sony E3 Press Conference.
