Website ‘Black Aperture’ Teases HL3 Logo
A mysterious website called Black-Aperture.com held an image of a Half-Life 3 logo earlier today. The site has since stopped working, but a cached version from Google poses some tantalising points.

The site’s name fuses together two elements of Valve’s successful Half-Life and Portal franchises. ‘Black’ is in reference to Half-Life’s Black Mesa and ‘Aperture’ apart of Portal’s ‘Aperture Science’.
The bottom of the page shows the usual trademarks and copyright descriptions.

Furthermore, if you hover over where the image was earlier, there is the link for ‘half-life3.com’ which subsequently redirects you to the official website for Valve’s Orange Box.
Upon investigation, folks over at the Steam forums found the domain was registered by a ‘David Hassen’ of Network Solutions of Drums, PA. However, the Half-Life 3 domain used for the image is owned by Valve.
Could this be a well thought out hoax? Or could it actually be the beginning of a tease campaign from Valve. There have been numerous rumours leading to a near announcement of Half-Life 3 with this alleged employee t shirt and this tweet/cryptic message. Hmmmmmmmm.
