PS3 is Lead Platform for Metal Gear Rising

There’s been all sorts of shake ups regarding the development of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (previously known as Metal Gear Solid: Rising). However, one thing hasn’t surprised us, the PS3 is the lead platform.

The producer of the game on the Platinum Games development side, Atsushi Inaba, confirmed via twitter that PS3 is the lead platform. We assumed that the team was picking up where Kojima Productions left off when the game was Metal Gear Solid: Rising. However, it turns out the studio uses the PS3 as a lead platform, as it did for Vanquish.

Bayonetta’s controversial PS3 version was not handled in house according to Inaba, hence the Xbox 360 was the lead platform for the game. Despite this, Platinum have reassured 360 owners that the game will be identical.
