Uncharted: Golden Abyss Longer than Uncharted 3

The PlayStation Vita launch title, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, is said to be longer than the recent PS3 release, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

The game is being developed by SCE Bend, the guys that brought you the Syphon Filter games and Resistance: Retribution to PSP. In an interview with NowGamer, the game’s writer and director, John Garvin, has this to say:

We have over two hours of cinematics in a game that is 10+hours long, so story is very important to us.

We’re impressed by the ‘10+ hours’ bit, thats for sure! Most players managed to complete Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception within 7-9 hours. This feat is a testament to the PS Vita’s technology capabilities. After playing the game myself at the EuroGamer Expo in late September, I can safely say the game looks, feels, plays and probably even smells like Uncharted on the console.

The game is being launched on December 17th with the launch of Sony’s new handheld in Japan. For the rest of us peasants, we’ll have to wait until February 22nd when the Vita is released worldwide.
